Galadrea Marvin |
Galadrea Marvin is from Newaygo, Michigan, and this will be her first year as a woodwind tech. She graduated from Newaygo in 2017 after spending four years as an active band member. During her time, she was awarded the responsibility of being section leader for two years. She was also given the opportunity to receive a scholarship for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, which ultimately put her on the path of pursuing a career in music. Currently, she is attending Grand Valley State University for a Bachelor of Music Performance degree. So far, she has marched with the Laker Marching Band, attended every game with the Basketball Pep Band, and played in the Concert Band. She has also become a proud member of Mu Kappa’s chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, a music fraternity dedicated to servicing many of Grand Valley’s music ensembles. This season Galadrea looks forward to learning, teaching, and creating many great memories along the way.

Ethan Curtis |
Good morning! My name is Ethan Curtis and I am the saxophone instructor for the Newaygo Marching Band. I have been the saxophone instructor for Newaygo since the summer of 2021. I graduated from Newaygo in 2020 after spending all four years in pep band, jazz band, concert band and marching band. That dedication provided me the opportunity to go to Europe with the Michigan Ambassadors of Music in the summer of 2019. Along with going to Europe, I was also given the responsibility of being section leader for the saxophones in the seasons of 2018 and 2019. Throughout those same years I was also first chair in concert band and jazz band. Currently, I am attending Muskegon Community College with the end goal of getting my Associate’s in Science and Arts. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my 20 pound cat Rusty, watching movies, playing video games and disc golfing. I am very much looking forward to this upcoming season, and for all the seasons to come!
